A Nanny is someone who is qualified in childcare and / or experienced. When hiring a Nanny, you should feel confident that you can totally trust this person to care for your children.
Most Nannies expect to have sole charge during their working hours (sole charge implies that the Nanny alone is responsible for the children).
Nannies will undertake full nursery duties i.e. preparing and cooking healthy meals for the children, sterilising and making up bottles, changing nappies, school runs, helping with homework, children’s laundry, organising play dates, outings and activities for the children.Basically, everything you would do yourself on a daily basis for your child.
However, Nannies are not expected to do housework or cleaning as they are employed as a professional to look after children.
Nannies live in or come to work on a daily basis. Nanny shares are where two families share the employment of one Nanny.
Nanny salaries vary depending on age and experience, should you wish to have further advice on salaries, please do not hesitate to contact us.Some Nannies are now Ofsted registered so you can use your childcare vouchers.
